City of Delray Beach

Delray Beach is a diverse, vibrant seaside community situated on the Atlantic Ocean between Boca Raton and West Palm Beach with a population of approximately 64,000. Delray Beach celebrates its art, culture, and history and is a two-time winner of the coveted All-America City award (1993 and 2001).

Annexation Initiative- North Barwick Road Neighborhood

NZ Consultants, Inc. (NZC) was contracted to prepare an Interlocal Service Boundary Agreement (ISBA) and Joint Planning Agreement between the City of Delray Beach and the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County.  This initiative included facilitating community meetings; and, preparing a resolution and a  technical report including maps of the subject area.

 

The ISBA/Public Outreach process encompasses two (2) public meetings with the community in order to listen to their input and responds to their comments and questions.

 

North Barwick Road Neighborhood ISBA Technical Report

The ISBA technical report included in-depth analysis of the following elements:

  • Environmental Services
  • Planning, Zoning and Building
  • Community Improvement
  • Parks and Recreation
  • Law Enforcement
  • Fire Rescue

 

Site Plan Reviews

NZ Consultants, Inc. (NZC) conducted the site plan review process for seven development projects including attending and preparing review comments for the Development Review Committee (DRC). The projects included Industrial, Commercial, Residential, and Mixed-Use development ranging from a 5,000 sq. ft. office building to a 188-unit apartment complex.  In addition to Site Plan review, NZC also processed a Conditional Use Petition for a Mixed-Use project that included 187,288 sq. ft. of office use and 112 residential units occupying three blocks along Atlantic Avenue, the City’s main thoroughfare.
